Twitter has partnered with platforms that power e-commerce sites for merchants of all sizes, including Bigcommerce, Demandware, and Shopify for the launch of Buy Now powering retailers to sell products, digital goods, or services directly within a Tweet via Buy Now.
With Twitter Offers launched earlier, retailers can target audiences with an offer where the transaction is completed within Twitter.
When users see a Twitter Offer in their timeline, they can add the offer to their credit or debit card in just a few taps, and redeem in real-time by using the card at the store. Because the offer is tied to their card, redemption is seamless and easy: there are no coupons to redeem at the point of purchase. After the purchase, the cash back savings appear on their card statement within a few days.
With Twitter testing Collections in a Timeline, brands can create and share Twitter collections of products and places.
Users are able to browse rich collections and get more information about the products or places they find interesting.
Research from Nielsen points out that Social Media sites are a popular way to find about new products and with a Buy now capability retailers may be able to target higher conversions within Twitter.
