Starbucks reported a 9 percent increase in revenues with Q2 sales hitting a record USD 5 Billion with comparable store sales increasing 7 percent in the US.
Starbucks reportedly added 900,000 new members to Starbucks rewards program with 12 Million Active members in the US. The growth in Starbucks Rewards members is coupled with a strong uptake of newer initiatives from Starbucks such as Mobile Order and Pay. Mobile Order and Pay usage doubled year-over-year and now there are 8 million Mobile Order and Pay transactions processed by Starbucks per month.
Starbucks has recently revealed a new Rewards Program, with rewards that allow mobile consumers to pay for free food and drinks with Stars that can be earned with the Rewards Program.
Starbucks Rewards members can enjoy a free Gold status till May 2 and earn additional benefits.
Starbucks has earlier engaged customers with brand experiences that are unique such as In-store playlists created by Starbucks baristas in partnership with Spotify.
Domino’s has launched a Rewards Program that allows consumers to accumulate points for online orders, toward a Free Pizza. For every order more than USD 10, consumers can get Rewards Points that can be accumulated for a free Medium Topping Pizza.
The TV Commercial for rewards program highlights the ease of earning a free pizza. The commercial communicates the key idea that getting a free pizza is now easy with “Piece Of The Pie Rewards”, at the same time reminding audiences about the occasions they could order pizzas for.
The Piece of the Pie rewards is geared to transform the consumer behavior by offering reward points on online ordering. Rewards program members will earn 10 points for online orders of USD 10 or more in a day. When members reach 60 points they can redeem their points for a free medium two-topping pizza. Domino’s offers a number of Online Ordering options.
“We want to reward our customers in a meaningful way and we are delighted to offer a program that is simple to understand and easy to use,” Domino’s USA President Russell Weiner said. “We know that the best reward is free pizza and we’re excited to give our customers yet another reason to love Domino’s.”
Membership perks include exclusive members-only discounts and bonus offers. Piece of the Pie Rewards members may track their past purchases, earned points and redeemed points online via their Pizza Profile, the release stated.

In addition to Playlists from Starbucks Barista, there are rewards that could be linked to free coffee on subscribing to Spotify Premium. According to a report “The coffee company’s 150,000 U.S.-based employees will receive a free Spotify Premium subscription and will be able to use Spotify to influence in-store playlists. Those playlists will then be available to stream within the Starbucks app. Spotify users will also be able to gain rewards points for the Starbucks app and will be able to listen to the in-store playlists within the Spotify apps”.
Target has recently launched a loyalty program with its “Brick and Mobile” strategy, in an App Red Perks that rewards you for earning Loyalty points linked to a purchase, upon scanning a Barcode. According to mobile Commerce Daily, The program is being tested in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina and is available by invitation only.The unique feature of the app is that the user earns 10 points for every dollar spend .Upon reaching a 5000 point threshold the user can avail a 5 percent discount on the next purchase. Redperks is a Loyalty feature that rewards customers upon achieve a certain threshold level thereby driving Loyalty for the store and offering a cash discount as opposed to the store merchandise.
