John Lewis Christmas Commercial #OnTheMoon, for 2015 generated 5.8 Million views on YouTube in first 24 hours making it one of the most viewed Ad Spots in the first 24 hours. The earlier Ad Spots from John Lewis, “The Bear and the Hare”, was the most shared ad with 200,000 shares in the first 24 hours, making it on the day of its release in 2013 the most shared viral video in the world. On Facebook the Ad spot has generated 3 Million views in the first 24 hours.
Earlier in the year, the Budweiser Super Bowl 2015 Ad featuring a Clydesdale caused a social media frenzy in the First 24 hours generating 5.4 million views on YouTube.
“Winner Stays,” launched for the World Cup 2014 has been the most viewed ad with views racking up-to 50 million views generating more than 85,000 tweets within seven days, according to data from Visible Measures, which tracks online viewership. According to The Drum, the most popular ads of 2015 taking into account factors such as watch time, views, engagement, and mix of paid/organic views place Nike’s “The last game” and “YouTube Rewind” at the top spot.
